Raspberry Ketone

While obesity has been on the rise in the United States, people have been searching for ways to deal with the condition. Time and again, individuals have tried varying procedures to lose weight. The weight loss craze has led to the coming of gastric sleeves, gastric bands, and many other procedures. And more recently, it has made people turn to raspberry ketones as a means of losing weight.

What is Raspberry Ketone?

Raspberry ketones are the compounds found in kiwis, red raspberries, and peaches that give them their aroma and flavor. Raspberry ketone does not come from raspberry exclusively as the name suggests. In fact, raspberry ketone supplements are made from synthetic raspberry ketone compounds. Additionally, raspberry ketone is not a paleo diet; it has nothing to do with low-card high-fiber diets. It is called a ketone simply because it is associated with weight loss.

Apart from helping people lose weight, raspberry ketones help maintain healthy skin and hair. A man or woman suffering from hair can slow down the thinning or hair loss process by taking raspberry ketone supplements. Alternatively, they could improve the health of their hair by using cosmetic products with raspberry ketone. Healthy women who take raspberry ketone supplements have more elastic skin than those who do not.

How does Raspberry Ketone work?

Raspberry ketone improves the health of skin and hair by supplying them with the necessary nutrients to keep them supple and fine. Its effect on weight loss is a bit more complicated.

Raspberry ketone has two key effects in the body, effects that are both associated with losing weight. First, raspberry ketone influences the body’s rate of burning fat. Raspberry ketone makes it more sensitive to the hormone norepinephrine, which makes the body burn fat faster. When a person’s body burns fat at a higher rate, he loses weight faster.

Secondly, raspberry ketone influences the rate at which the body releases the hormone adiponectin. Adiponectin is the hormone responsible for regulating a person’s metabolism and blood sugar levels. Various studies have associated higher levels of adiponectin with a lower risk of being overweight. Raspberry ketone makes the body release more adiponectin, which means that it helps lower risk of obesity and improves weight loss for those who take it.

However, scientists have not definitively proved these benefits of raspberry ketone. While users claim that the compounds do help them keep their hair and skin healthy, no studies show a direct link between raspberry ketone and weight loss.

Side Effects and Dosage

For the most part, raspberry ketone is considered a safe supplement. Taking as little as 100mg or as much as 400mg of raspberry ketone supplement once or twice a day typically has no side effects. Those who use the supplements take this dosage to maintain their weight loss regimes and healthy cosmetic routines.

Still, like every other drug, raspberry ketone has drawbacks for some people. After taking raspberry ketone supplements, several people report suffering from heart palpitations, and spikes in blood pressure, all of which could be fatal.
